My testimony

I do not need/ doctrinal purity/ to be spiritually pure.

I do not need/ moral absolutes/ to be morally sure.

I do not need/ visions of heaven/ to hope/ that there is one there.

I do not need/ a witness of faith/ before/ your cross I will bear.

I know that I yearn/ to listen/ to hear/ with a Love enlarging my soul.

And I know that I wish/ there is Something beyond me,

that binds us/ Connected/ and Whole.

I hope for your future,

I bleed for my past,

I delight in the present.

Amen.

Nice.

My motto is "Lack of faith, without works, is dead."

Amen. Please write more. This is such a breath of fresh air to me. I need to breathe more of it. Thank you. Oh, and would you please remind Mr. Curie, that we're anxiously awaiting his more detailed story of his homecoming outing adventure with you, his parents and sibs? I'll go remind him myself right now. ;D

I should probably have clarified that this poem was written shortly after attending a Catholic retreat where there was a higher-than-usual proportion of vocal, conservative Catholics. I was feeling a lot of internal pressure to "profess" my doctrinal stance on things, when I really have not come to any kind of conclusion as to my beliefs or lack thereof. As a Mormon, I felt this need for doctrinal purity nearly constantly; as a catholic, it was very surprising to experience it.

@Ned - Done :) Although our schedule in the coming weeks is no lighter than it has been the last 7 weeks, so I can't make any guarantees as to when he will be updating.
